Job Description

- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS), required. Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS), OR Advanced Cardiac Life Support ACLS, preferred as applicable.
- Minimum Requirement: BSN required with completion of 18 months of clinical nursing experience.
- St. Jude or other RN experience required.
- Intermediate pediatric assessment, critical thinking, and pain assessment skills.
- Some experience in pediatric or oncology nursing.
- Working knowledge of research protocols.
- Strong knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs of the patients served on the assigned unit.
- Strong knowledge of the principles of growth and development for all ages served.
- Strong ability to assess and interpret age specific data about the patient’s status.
- Strong clinical nursing, interpersonal, and patient education skills.
- Proven performance in earlier role.
- (LC: RN-TN) Must possess a current Tennessee State Board of Nursing license if primary residence is Tennessee or a Nurse Licensure non-Compact state.
- (LC: RN-ARK or RN-MISS) Must possess a current State Board of Nursing license in the state of primary residence if the state is a Nurse Licensure Compact state.
- Certified Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nurse (CPHON) preferred.
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred.

As a Clinic Nurse in our Ambulatory Care Unit: Acute Care Clinic, you’ll be part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team that serves on the frontlines of our patients’ care. Our three-bed Acute Care Clinic plays a critical role at St. Jude, serving patients from across the hospital who are unscheduled in our ACU, but require immediate attention for urgent or emergent fever, pain, and medical reactions. Because of the unique and variable nature of our clinics, you’ll have the opportunity to utilize every clinical skill in your toolbox, thinking critically and collaborating daily with your team—made up of two nurses and a provider--to triage and treat our patients.

Compensation
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
