Attend all training sessions and team meetings
Provide support as a UMGC student (peer) leader to new students
Respond to students’ questions and concerns in a virtual community
Participate in live, virtual events designed for new students
Coach fellow students who may need assistance with developing problem-solving strategies related to time management, career exploration, study skills, and financial literacy; refer students to UMGC resources as appropriate
Use Microsoft Office 365 tools for communication and organization
Promote a professional, respectful, and safe online learning environment
Current student who has earned 12+ credits at UMGC
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and verbal/written communication skills
Desire to work closely with students to support success
Letter of recommendation or referral from a faculty member or UMGC staff member (Success Coach, Military Education Coordinator, etc.).

Location: Online
University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks current UMGC students to work part-time (approximately six hours per week) as Peer Leaders. Most work hours are flexible; however, participation in scheduled meetings and live events is required. Peer Leaders will support new undergraduate students as they transition to student life at UMGC. Training and ongoing professional development is provided. This role involves being part of a small team of leaders who have a passion for helping others learn, grow, and achieve their educational goals.
