      About the Role


      We have one of the largest and most highly regarded specialist pensions teams in the UK, our team currently comprises 18 partners and around 50 other fee earners across the UK – with a large team in London, and regional teams in Manchester, Sheffield, Glasgow and Edinburgh.


      You would have the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of work with high quality clients both in Scotland and UK-wide and help us continue to grow in the Scottish market. We support fee earners with other qualification backgrounds looking to specialise in pensions and our team have a combination of backgrounds in commercial, insurance, corporate, public and employment law as well as in pensions. We are experienced in advising trustees and employers on all aspects of defined benefit and defined contribution pension schemes and our team has a lot of client contact at all levels and the opportunity to run with matters from the start. We also have considerable experience advising on DC, group pensions, master trusts, insurance products (including buy-in and buy-out arrangements), longevity products and other structures, as well as pensions litigation and a busy public sector practice. We work closely with teams within CMS, such as employment, corporate, insurance, banking and funds teams giving great exposure to the wider firm. As part of a busy and developing team you will also be actively involved in our business development and marketing strategies.


      We place a lot of importance on providing our fee earners with training and you would benefit from extensive internal training opportunities (both pensions specific and skills based), both on joining the team and throughout your career. We also encourage fee earners to take advantage of training and networking opportunities available through pension industry bodies.
