      UnitedHealth Group’s People Team Internship Program is a 10-week, comprehensive experience where students are immersed in UHG’s culture and corporate environment. The internship is a pipeline to full-time opportunities within the organization with 80% of interns historically receiving full-time offers at the conclusion of the summer program. As a Grad Intern you will be responsible for providing consultative support on critical projects within UHG corporate and Optum/UnitedHealthcare business segment teams. You will have the opportunity to gain practical experience spanning a variety of disciplines including:

      • Organizational design and development
      • Change enablement
      • Mergers and acquisitions
      • Employee relations
      • Reporting and analytics
      • Talent acquisition and management
      • Compensation and total rewards
      • People Team technology
      • Talent development and learning
      • DE&I and sustainability
      • UHG Global

      In addition to challenging work within assigned internship areas, interns will also have the opportunity to explore the broader People Team community by:

      • Participating in enterprise-wide internship programming
      • Receiving mentorship from People Team leaders
      • Contributing to People Team project assignments
      • Networking with executive leadership within UHG Corporate, Optum and UnitedHealthcare
      • Learning about career path opportunities within the People Team Community

      You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.

      Required Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university / college
      • Current enrollment in a graduate degree program focused in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Industrial Labor Relations, Labor & Employer Relations, Business Administration, or related discipline
      • Active degree enrollment throughout the duration of the internship program (June - August 2024)
      • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc. will not be considered)


      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Prior work experience in human resources or healthcare fields
      • Ability to take direction from multiple sources, and prioritize work
      • Effective written and verbal communication skills
      • Ability to build trusting relationships with effective interpersonal skills
      • Ability to prioritize and execute on multiple projects & deadlines
      • Deliver results with integrity
