      Job summary

      We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated full time Clinical Team Leader Lead to join us within Devon Perinatal Mental Health Service. The successful applicant will be working across Torbay and West Devon Community Teams. The Clinical Team Leader will work alongside a Practice Lead and Practitioner Lead to support staff.

      We are seeking an individual who is open to learning & developing their skills in perinatal mental health, and we are committed to supporting them by offering a comprehensive induction with ongoing support, supervision and professional development from our established and passionate MDT. This also includes access to our monthly Continuous Professional Development where we offer case discussion and learning as well as often inviting external speakers to develop our skills and knowledge.

      Devon Partnership NHS Trust Perinatal Service is a well-established service and we have been awarded for our exceptional work at a national level (Positive Practice in Mental Health - Community Perinatal Team 2016 winner). We have close working partnerships with our local Maternity Departments, University of Exeter, University of Plymouth, Talkworks (IAPT), Mother and Baby Unit (MBU) and MBU Outreach Team as well as the Trusts well-respected Research Department. We are currently involved in an exciting research trial in relation to a psychological intervention.

      Main duties of the job

      The post holder will be central to the ongoing service delivery within the Devon wide Perinatal Mental Health Services, and will ensure the delivery of these services in accordance with robust governance arrangements within the directorate which may include line management and/or taking a lead clinical and managerial role in an area of service effectiveness. They will provide effective professional clinical leadership through appropriate modelling of behaviours and skills and/or direct supervision. They will also have some direct client responsibility. They will take responsibility for the day to day management of the perinatal mental health teams and provide liaison and support to the wider health community. They will work closely with the Practitioner Lead and Practice Lead to ensure robust support and clinical management for staff and service users.

      • A professional mental health nursing qualification eg RMN, Nursing Degree.
      • Post graduate qualification relevant to specialism or commitment to work towards.
      • Training to level 3 in Safeguarding adults, children and young people: roles and competencies for Health Care staff or commitment to work towards.

      • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency environment
      • Extensive experience of managing a busy caseload of clients with a range of mental health problems.
      • Substantial experience of working at a senior clinical level.
      • Working within a community mental health setting in either the statutory or voluntary sector.
