      About the Role

      Montecito Bank & Trust is seeking a full-time Personal Banker III to join the team in our Carpinteria Branch. As a Personal Banker III, you will deliver a World Class Experience by providing excellent customer service to all internal and external customers of the Bank, acting as the single point of contact for walk-in customers for fulfilling sales, service, and referrals. You will meet customer’s transaction requirements and educate customers about Montecito Bank & Trust’s products and services to match their needs. The Personal Banker III is primarily responsible for assisting clients on the platform, while maintaining all expectations of proper cash handling, new accounts production, and teller line work as needed. You will be located in Carpinteria, CA with a fully on-site work schedule.

      What We’re Looking For

      • High school diploma or G.E.D. required; some college preferred
      • Three to five years of previous Personal Banker experience required
      • One to three years of previous experience selling lending products (mortgage, home equity, business loans/lines, etc.) preferred
      • Ability to be registered as a Mortgage Loan Originator with the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry, and maintain the registration as required
      • Ability to pass a criminal background check administered by the Secretary of State to be commissioned as a Notary Public
      • Strong sales, critical thinking, and customer service skills
      • Adept at identifying and resolving customer issues and challenges

      Your Responsibilities

      The essential functions of this role include, but are not limited to:

      • Offer information on bank products and services that can benefit new and current customers, and enhance their banking relationship
      • Handle a variety of platform duties including operating network software to maintain, service, and open accounts; discussing loan options and taking loan applications; and identifying referrals to other lines of business
      • Assist in the acquisition of consumer and small business loan relationships; accept consumer and small business loan applications and close loans as directed by management
      • Accurately and efficiently handle a variety of cash and negotiable transactions
      • Successfully work as part of a team to ensure manager developed individual and branch goals are met
      • Provide reserve capacity to the teller line and to the leadership team for transaction review and opening/closing duties
