Job Description
- Req#: 9230
- Doctorate of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) required.
- Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy is preferred
- Registered as a “Pharmacy Intern” with the SC Board of Pharmacy Required.
- The Pharmacy Extern will have 120 calendar days from graduation date to pass the required licensing exam.
- The Pharmacy Extern must be a licensed Pharmacist by the South Carolina LLR within 60 calendar days of passing the pharmacy licensing exam.
- If applicable, the Pharmacy Extern must complete the reciprocity process for South Carolina within 60 days of passing the SC pharmacy law exam.
- Failure to pass the required licensing exam or become a SC Licensed Pharmacist within the designated time frame will result in a downward transfer to a qualifying position or discharge of employment depending on the needs of the organization at the time.

Position Summary:The Pharmacy Extern (PE) will fill medication orders, prepackage, compound pharmaceuticals, refill stock supplies, deliver medications, and performs various clerical duties as assigned. (To be personally supervised by a licensed pharmacist & not assigned duties that may only be performed by a licensed pharmacist.) The PE will comply with the policies, laws, regulations, and standards that govern the practice of pharmacy as well as those of the hospital.Qualifications
