- visit with patients to obtain medication lists
- review and verify medication orders for appropriateness, dosage, route and potential interactions
- ensure orders are compliant with hospital protocols and patient-specific factors
- oversee or assist in the preparation and dispensing of medications, including IV admixtures, unit-dose medications and controlled substances
- accurately document all activities in the appropriate system or patient record
- coordinates the activities of the pharmacy department to provide the highest quality of pharmaceutical care to all patients served by the hospital, while ensuring patient safety
- the scope of patient care provided may include: General Medicine/Surgical, Intensive Care Services, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, Emergency Care, Oncology, Peri-operative, Geriatrics and Outpatient Services
- night shift is 7 on and 7 off
- current state Registered Pharmacist License
- BS Degree in Pharmacy
- BLS and ACLS certifications required within 6 months of hire and must be maintained
- experience in hospital pharmacy operations
- Doctor of Pharmacy
Overview
We are seeking a Pharmacist, internally referred to as our Inpatient Pharmacist. As a Pharmacist for our Inpatient Pharmacy you will work under the supervision of the Director of Pharmacy and collaborate with physicians, nurses and other healthcare providers to deliver optimal pharmaceutical care within the inpatient setting.
Bonus option: up to $10,000 bonus option (quarterly payouts)
Shift’s Available: Nights
Employment Type: Full Time
Hours: 8-hour shift: 7 nights on and 7 nights off
Location: St. Joseph Medical Center, Kansas City, MO
