It’s an exciting time for AXA Health, with significant investment planned to transform, deliver new digital services to our customers, and streamline and automate our business processes. The AXA Health Support Team is a medical information helpline staffed by nurses, midwives, and pharmacists, providing expert help to our members whatever their healthcare needs. Our team provide a fantastic personal service to our valued members and is available day and night. When our members have a health question, it’s good to know there’s someone to talk things through. Whatever the need, our medical professionals are here to put minds at ease, so they are not worrying a minute more than they must.

As Pharmacist, you’ll provide expert pharmaceutical support and guidance. Part of an experienced and established team, you’ll have the opportunity to be part of the team's evolution and improve services for our members. You'll be provided with all the necessary equipment and training to carry out the role. There will be regular opportunities for professional updating for your ongoing registration requirements.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our members. You’ll work most shifts from home but will need to work from our Tunbridge Wells office fortnightly. When working from home, you’ll need a quiet, private space to work from when you won’t be overheard. You'll work a variety of shift patterns, including early starts, evenings and weekends. You’ll receive a 5% shift allowance.

We have permanent and fixed term contract positions available. The permanent position is 26.5 hours per week. The 12-month fixed term contract is 23.5 hours per week. As part of your application, you'll be asked to indicate your preference.

      What you’ll be doing:

      • Provide high quality, empathetic guidance on a broad range of pharmaceutical issues (e.g. medication usage, interactions and storage, vaccinations etc) to members and non-members both over the phone and through the online system, whilst strictly adhering to the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPSGB) code of ethics.
      • Effectively maintain the various helplines and services within service levels, offering callers relevant help and information daily and in line with defined hours of business.
      • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, acting as a clinical expert and role model, providing specialist knowledge and assistance to members of the team, stakeholders, and the business.
      • Know the systems, processes and procedures required to carry out your role, including how to appropriately implement complaint handling procedures as per the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and AXA Health guidance, data protection, and medical confidentiality (including robust consent procedures), to protect our members and AXA Health from unnecessary liability.
      • Take ownership and continuously develop your professional skills, including enhancement of your clinical knowledge in relevant fields. Coach and support non-clinical peers.

There is a comprehensive 4 week paid induction for this role. For the initial 2 weeks, you’ll spend around 3 days in our Tunbridge Wells office (8.30am – 5.00pm) with the rest of your induction done remotely.

Due to the number of applications we expect to receive for this role, we reserve the right to close this advert earlier than the listed closing date to ensure we’re able to effectively manage interest. Therefore, if you’re interested in joining us at AXA, please don’t hesitate to apply.
