Job summary
Are you a confident, forward-thinking administrative assistant looking for a new challenge? Why not consider joining our homecare and clinical pharmacy team? You will be front and centre, co-ordinating with multi-disciplinary teams across the Trust and external organisations, giving you a great opportunity to be a part of the delivery of treatments in oncology.
We are currently looking to recruit a highly motivated, pro-active, enthusiastic administrative assistant to join our Trust homecare and clinical team working in conjunction with multi-disciplinary teams in providing a high-quality service to patients and colleagues. You will be supported in your training and further development by an experienced pharmacy team.

Main duties of the job
You will work closely with other members of our multi-disciplinary teams to support Christie patients accessing the very latest developments in oncology and haematology treatments. You will be responsible for administrative duties, within our innovative homecare and clinical pharmacy team to ensure a streamlined high quality, patient-focused clinical pharmacy and medicines supply service to oncology patients.
An overview of the job includes assisting in the cyclical dispensing service, maintaining spreadsheets and databases, organising requests for outsourced medications and workload with dispensary. You will be responsible for procuring workwear, sundries, etc. when requested.
Other office duties include general typing, photocopying, filing, laminating and distribution of information and other paperwork required by pharmacy staff as per departmental needs.
You will be a strong team player with effective interpersonal, communication and organisational skills as well as a keen interest and enthusiasm for patient focussed services and continual improvement.
The post holder will be based at the Christie Withington site.

To participate in the management of homecare prescriptions.
To participate in the delivery and collection of prescriptions to the dispensary and other areas of the Trust.
Respond to telephone calls appropriately, ensuring information is passed on to relevant members of staff.
To report any complaints, incidents or near misses to one of the homecare/clinical pharmacy technicians and/or pharmacists and record on the Trust incident system.
To be aware of and participate in homecare audits or clinical service audits when required.
To be aware of and have a working understanding of the processes of the clinical pharmacy service.
Be fully aware of all departmental operational policies and always follow procedures.
Provide and maintain information/paperwork relating to personnel issues as required.
Receive and distribute departmental post.
Maintain records within pharmacy according to departmental needs.
To archive all pharmacy paperwork in accordance with information governance procedures.
Oversee the distribution of BNFs and any other relevant paperwork within the department and across the Trust as required.
