      We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Wealstun, a category C Prison located near the village of Thorp Arch in West Yorkshire. Which is based 30 minute from Leeds, and 5 minutes from the A1 just off Boston Spa.

      This is a rare opportunity to join our close knit Pharmacy team, where you will join a unique working environment, where no two days are the same! Hours This is a full time role, working 37.5 hours per week, 09:00 - 17:00, Monday to Friday.

      Salary

      This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary of £24,669 - £28,690 per annum - depending on experience.

      Main duties of the job

      As a Pharmacy Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will

      • Support the Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Manager, as well as the wider healthcare team
      • Label and dispense medications, and prepare prescriptions
      • Second check controlled drugs
      • Contribute to services such as medicine reconciliation, managing stock medicines and transportation of medicines
      • Provide support to ensure a safe and secure medicines management service, following policies, procedures and standard operating procedures
      • Provide a timely and efficient service to the prison wings.
      • Receive prescriptions and stick returns from wing based clinical areas.
      • Collect orders from suppliers from the Main Gate and arrange collection of return.
      • Participate in dispensing of prescriptions.

      Our New Pharmacy Assistant Will Have:

      • An NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Dispensing
      • Experience within a pharmacy environment - whether in the community, hospital or a prison / secure setting
      • Experience within a patient / customer facing role
      • A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
