We are seeking a motivated individual who will have the unique opportunity to work on our Medication Record sub-team within Clinical Pharmacy Informatics. Part of the responsibilities will include supporting build & maintenance of medication records, order groups, orderable mapping and medication lists for the CCHS US locations.
- Facilitates the development of medication documentation and ordering systems with other disciplines.
- Ensures ongoing development of automated decision support tools related to the safe and effective use of medications.
- Assist users to modify processes to allow for implementation and efficient use of the clinical information system based on knowledge of clinical practice, patient care standards, elements of good service, and cost effective/efficient measures.
- Identifies computer capabilities and needs of clinical departments, and assures that the objectives and goals of the clinicians are communicated, and supported by the system and process improvements are implemented.
- Integrate the design of the medication use documentation systems across disciplines utilizing clinical knowledge.
- Maintains issue logs of requests and follows through with assigned items to completion.
- Communicates timely and accurately to the appropriate committees, project team members and clinicians.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Requires a Pharmacy degree with current state license.
- An advanced degree in Pharmacy and/or a residency or fellowship training is preferred.
- Current State licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in current State within 90 days of hire preferred.
- For individuals required to administer immunizations, current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification obtained within 90 days of hire are required.
For individuals required to respond to adult or pediatric cardiopulmonary arrest events, current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification through American Heart Association (AHA), or certification obtained within one (1) year of hire, is required. - Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
- Two years working in an acute care setting as a Pharmacist and/or Pharmacy Informatics Specialist, or have completed a residency in Pharmacy Informatics.
- Physical demands include periods of standing and walking.
- Dexterity sufficient to perform computer functions and communication via telephone.
- May be required to lift and transport up to ten pounds.
- Requires normal or corrected vision.
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
