  Essential Functions:

  • Provide empathetic and compassionate leadership for patients, caregivers, and the pharmacy team.
  • Build, motivate, and inspire Pharmacy Support Staff by maximizing strengths, addressing development opportunities, and reducing knowledge gaps.
  • Identify and implement business opportunities to drive growth and enhance pharmacy performance.

  • Serve as a patient advocate by recommending cost-effective therapy to prescribers.
  • Precept pharmacist interns and provide direct oversight to all pharmacy staff.
  • Dispense drugs prescribed by healthcare practitioners and maximize 340B program utilization.
  • Label, package, and compound pharmaceuticals to ensure proper dispensing.
  • Complete operational requirements, including verifying order entries and maintaining controlled substance records.
  • Remove expired or damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory.
  • Check order accuracy for medicine type, dosage, packaging, and labels on all orders.
  • Initiates the proper training of pharmacy teammates in area of responsibilities.
  • Coordinates and integrates interdepartmental and intradepartmental services and participates in various committees.
  • Ensures that policies and procedures promoting safe and effective use of 340B designation are followed.
  • A commitment to getting 340B ACE Certification
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

  Requirements

  • Healthcare Knowledge : The ideal candidate will have three (3) years’ experience with the 340B Drug Pricing Program in the Federally Qualified Health Center Environment.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in basic data entry computer skills.
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Team Player: An industrious and cooperative nature to foster harmonious working relationships with clinic management, physicians, clinicians, and the public.
  • Education: Must possess a Bachelor of Science or higher degree in pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy and a current, clean license to practice pharmacy in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Pharmacy Manager for three (3) years or more
  • 340B ACE Certification
  • Prior CPR/First Aid certification
  • Knowledge of various regulatory bodies including but not limited to: Joint Commission, Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), and the PA Board of Pharmacy
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish, Nepali, French, Arabic
