      Summary of Job Responsibilities:

      The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Pharmacy Resident performs clinical pharmaceutical care for customer-owners in collaboration with pharmacists, physicians, other healthcare providers and customer-owners in an accurate and timely manner. Pharmacy residents perform work under supervision of their preceptors and Residency Director and clinical assignments are of moderate scope and complexity building upon previous experience/education with progressively more difficultly and responsibility throughout the year. Under direct supervision, the resident will assist in delivering care that fully supports the optimization of customer ownership of health-related issues and therapeutic, enduring relationships between providers and customer-owners

      This is a 12-month Residency program in which there will be project opportunities that provide complexity, accountability, and breadth for which the Pharmacy Department will be directly responsible. In this position, the Resident will receive guidance and training in the area of pharmacy practices.

      Southcentral Foundation (SCF) sponsors multiple learning opportunities for students and residents in their clinical rotations. Learners will engage in a variety of learning activities under the mentorship of a SCF preceptor to gain valuable clinical experience within the Nuka System of Care.

      Eligibility:

      SCF programs are established to serve a primary population comprised of Alaska Native people who are affiliated with Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI) and Alaska Native and American Indian people within SCF’s geographical service area. Employees should have a thorough understanding of the cultures and the needs of this population. Such knowledge is critical to ensure the achievement of SCF’s vision of a Native Community that enjoys physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness, and mission of working together with the Native Community to achieve wellness through health and related services:

      Pharmacy Resident:

      1. Degree in Pharmacy from an Accredited Pharmacy Program.
      2. A minimum acceptable grade point average (GPA) shall be no less than 2.8 on a 4.0 grading scale.
      3. Licensed in the State of Alaska as a Pharmacist or Intern Pharmacist within 60 days of date of hire

      Native Preference:

      Under P.L. 93-638, as amended, the company pursues a policy of Native preference in hiring, contracting and training. SCF Human Resources must receive certification before applicants receive preference.

      Employee Health Requirements:
