What You Will Do

Responsible for optimizing charge capture, ensuring billing accuracy, maintenance and support of automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs), bar code maintenance and supporting data-driven decision-making. This role involves working with pharmacists, finance teams, and IT departments to improve pharmacy operations, compliance, and revenue integrity.

1. Analyze medication charges for accuracy, identify discrepancies, and support charge capture improvements.

2. Maintain the hospital charge master to ensure correct pricing and coding.

3. Ensure adherence to billing regulations (Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance), verify coding accuracy and conduct audits.

4. Apply billing modifiers (e.g., JZ, JW), support accreditation efforts, and ensure charge information is captured within revenue cycle systems.

5. Develop reports on medication usage and trends, provide support to leadership with data-driven insights and assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities.

6. Work with electronic health record (EHR) systems to ensure charge integrity, assist in implementing charge capture solutions and collaborate with IT to troubleshoot pharmacy system issues

7. Work with Automated Dispensing Systems (ADC), EHR, and repackaging software to ensure accurate medication builds, barcode scanning functionality, and scannable medication templates in the formulary.

8. Educate pharmacy staff on documentation best practices and contribute to workflow improvements that support revenue integrity.

9. Perform other duties as assigned

What You Will Need

Education:

High school education required. Minimum of 5 years pharmacy technician experience required.

Additional Preferences

Certified Pharmacy Technician required.
