      We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our team Pharmacy team HMP Leicester a category B male Prison located in Leicestershire.

      HMP Leicester is a male prison with the capacity of 356, 80% of the prisoners are on remand.

      The Pharmacy team consists of team of 5, currently a 1 x Lead Pharmacy Technician, Pharmacy Technician and a Pharmacy Assistant,

      There are 4 hatches based in the pharmacy department, 2 x generic pharmacy hatches, 1 x menadione hatch.

      Hours

      This is a permanent role based on 37.5 hours per week Monday - Sunday:
      • Shift patterns to cover:
      • Monday - Sunday - 7.30am - 6.30pm or 7.30am 3.30pm
      • 1 weekend in 4

      Salary

      This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary between £33232 - £40211 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

      Main duties of the job

      As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will

      • Provide outstanding quality based patient centred care to our patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
      • Focussing on providing a safe and secure medicines management service, ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard at all times and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.
      • Deliver non-judgemental care within the scope of professional standards. Involving anything from the timely administration of medicines through to analysing cost effective prescribing as defined through our unique health in justice medicines policy.
      • You will make a real difference by working as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

      • NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
      • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
      • Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD)
      • Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
      • Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

      Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
