      Job summary

      We are seeking a motivated and detail-orientedPharmacy Technicianto join our multidisciplinary team at Spirit Primary Care. Working under the supervision of clinical pharmacists and GPs, you will play a vital role in supporting safe, effective, and efficient prescribing and medicines management within the practice.

      This is an excellent opportunity to work in a patient-facing, primary care environment, contributing to the optimisation of medicines use, supporting medication safety initiatives, and improving outcomes for patients.

      This role will be based across our Leicestershire practices with travel expected to sites.

      Main duties of the job

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Support the repeat prescription process, including reviewing medication requests and liaising with patients, prescribers, and community pharmacies.
      • Perform medication reconciliation following hospital discharge, outpatient appointments, or care transitions.
      • Manage and maintain accurate medication records and ensure patient medication lists are up to date.
      • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of prescribing protocols, formulary adherence, and cost-effective prescribing initiatives.
      • Provide advice to patients on the safe use of their medicines (within the scope of competence).
      • Support clinical audits and contribute to the development and delivery of quality improvement projects.
      • Assist in training and supporting other members of the practice team on medicines management issues.
      • Liaise with community pharmacies, care homes, and other health and social care providers to ensure coordinated patient care.
      • Support the development and review of practice policies related to medicines and prescribing.
      • Work in accordance with national guidelines (e.g., NICE), local policies, and CQC standards.
