      Job summary

      We are looking to recruit two motivated and professional pharmacy technicians to join our expanding team at Collingwood Health Group. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of an established multi-disciplinary team that is passionate about providing high quality, standardised care for our registered population. The successful candidates will join the team supported by clinical pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.

      You will be required to enrol on the CPPE, Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway (if you haven't already)..

      Main duties of the job

      Key responsibilities

      Document processing - Safe and effective medication processing from clinical documents, reconciling medications post-discharge and ensuring accurate clinical records.

      Repeat prescriptions - Work alongside pharmacy administrative team to ensure the processing and authorisation of repeat prescription requests falls in line with practice protocols and clinical guidelines

      Medication safety - Identify and resolve medication related issues, ensure compliance with national and local prescribing

      Patient Education - Provide advice on medication use, side effects and adherence to treatment plans

      Support Prescribers - work with clinical team to improve prescribing quality and manage high-risk medications

      Data and Reporting - Assist with prescribing audits, data collection and reporting for quality improvement initiatives.

In addition, we benefit from the expertise of an integrated pharmacy team, including Clinical Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians, who play a vital role in supporting safe and effective prescribing and medication management.

      Qualifications

      Essential

      • BTEC in pharmaceutical science or NVQ Level 3 supported by appropriate underpinning knowledge e.g. BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences, NPA or equivalent qualification, plus specialist training and experience equivalent to degree level (or equivalent level of knowledge and / or experience)
      • Registered Pharmacy Technician with General Pharmaceutical Council.
      • Evidence of relevant continuing professional development.

      Experience

      Desirable

      • Experience of working with S1 clinical system
      • Previous relevant experience working in either a hospital, community or primary care pharmacy setting.
      • Previous experience of managing/supervising staff
      • Knowledge of the operation of pharmacy services
      • Audit experience

      • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
      • Clear, polite telephone manner
      • Competent in the use of Office and Outlook
      • Effective time management (Planning & Organising)
