Job Description

- Maintain inventory, place orders. Check in drugs, stock shelves, remove out of date product
- Prepares medications including emulsions, liquids, powders and ointments.
- Maintain packaging equipment for calibration.
- Timely and accurately fill resident medication orders in accordance with State Board of Pharmacy regulations.
- Properly prepare orders for final delivery.
- Complies with all HIPAA regulations.
- Effectively and harmoniously interacts with facilities, physicians, and other pharmacy employees at all levels; promoting teamwork and demonstrating strong leadership skills and professionalism.
- Prepares various reports as requested by management, customers and residents.
- Schedule may include weekend and/or nights
- Current State Pharmacy Technician license and certification.
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
- 1-3 years Long Term Care Pharmacy Technician experience.
- Medical Terminology required.
- Order Entry and insurance billing experience preferred.
- IV experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Word and Excel.
- Good human relation skills, strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Patience, tact, enthusiasm, positive attitude and professional manner.
- Strong organizational skills including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Problem Solving Skills and Critical Thinking Skills.
- Strong knowledge of Brand/Generic drugs preferred.
- Must be able to stand, bend, stoop and lift up to 30 pounds.
