- Obtaining patient consent for the collection of a blood sample.
- Performing venepuncture in accordance with practice protocols.
- Maintaining accurate patient records on EMIS.
- Correctly labelling, packaging, and storing of samples.
- Effective using the specimen log, resolving any discrepancies.
- Ensuring samples are sent to the laboratory in a timely manner.
- Working collaboratively with the nursing team, seeking guidance when necessary for patient related matters.
- GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths

Job summary
Park and Broomfield Surgery are looking for a bank phlebotomist to provide cover when required (to cover leave and absence) this can be both planned in advance and at short notice if available.
Our Phlebotomy clinics are held at The Queen Victoria Hospital in Herne Bay
The clinics start early morning and the last appointment is around lunch time.
