      Job summary

      VILLAGE HEALTH GROUP

      We are looking to welcome a phlebotomist to join our dynamic and supportive team at Village Health Group. We welcome applicants with or without GP surgery experience. If you have the right skills and qualities, we can provide on-going support to develop professionally.

      Knowledge and experience in the following areas would be ideal.

      Obtaining patient consent for the collection of a blood sample

      Performing venepuncture in accordance with practice protocols

      Maintaining accurate patient records on the clinical IT system

      The correct labelling, packaging and storing of samples

      Effective use of the specimen log, resolving any discrepancies

      Ensuring samples are sent to the laboratory in a timely manner

      Maintaining an effective liaison with the NHS Trust laboratory staff

      Working collaboratively with the nursing team, seeking guidance when necessary for patient related matters.

      You will also need a full driving license as you will be expected to work at either of our main sites which are East Leake and Keyworth.

      The role is part time 22.5 hours 5 days per week.

      About us

      Overview of Village Health Group (VHG)

      VHG is a large GMS practice of around 26,000 patients in Rushcliffe, South Nottinghamshire. The practice formed in April 2020 from the merger of East Leake Medical Group and Keyworth Medical Practice, both of which have been rated outstanding by the CQC. VHG works across four sites, with our main sites in East Leake and Keyworth and branch surgeries in Ruddington and Sutton Bonington.

      VHG has 10 GP partners working together with a wide range of health care professionals including salaried GPs, nurse practitioners, practice nurses, nursing associates, health care assistants, clinical pharmacists, first contact physiotherapists social prescribing link workers and care-coordinators. We are well supported by local community nursing and therapy teams, and we have a well-developed model of multidisciplinary working. We use SystmOne clinical system.

      We are a friendly, enthusiastic, well organised practice committed to offering quality care while achieving high QOF targets. We use the SystmOne clinical system.

      We are part of the PartnersHealth GP Federation, PartnersHealth working together with practices in Rushcliffe, and part of the Rushcliffe PCN.
