      Job summary

      Part time - 16 hours per week

      The Rotherham Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is currently seeking an enthusiastic and professional Phlebotomist to join our experienced and caring Phlebotomy Team. The role of Phlebotomist is to successfully obtain blood samples via venepuncture. Full training will be provided.

      This is a highly rewarding position that plays a vital role in supporting patient care across both inpatient and outpatient settings including paediatrics. Working across two NHS sites within Rotherham, you will be part of a committed team delivering high-quality phlebotomy services with compassion and efficiency.

      Flexible Working - This is a 7-day service based on a 6-week rolling rota, which includes Bank Holidays.

      • Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently between TRFT sites in the Rotherham area and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

      Main duties of the job

      As a Phlebotomist at The Rotherham Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, you will play a key role in supporting patient care by ensuring the accurate and timely collection, identification, and transport of blood samples.

      You will follow strict protocols for patient identification and sample labelling, maintain high standards of quality and safety, and contribute to efficient stock management. The role requires attention to detail, good communication, and adherence to Trust policies and procedures to ensure a reliable and patient-centred phlebotomy service.
