This career photojournalist captures and develops multi-faceted video, photo, and other forms of digital and blended content to highlight the work of Compassion's programs within multiple programs/countries. The photojournalist further serves as a key player within a highly collaborative team environment with a strong emphasis on partnership with international Compassion offices. At this career level, the incumbent generally conducts design projects independently or participates as a team member for major, complex, or international creative initiatives. He or she may coach and oversee the work of other photojournalists.
Responsibilities
- Acts as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understands mandate to protect children. Commits to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abides by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Reports any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately supports responses to incidents if they occur.
- Travels to Compassion programs and develops strategies and tactics to capture video and photos to use in creative concepts and designs in response to communication strategies and goals. Searches and selects photography options and incorporates into designs or written materials as appropriate.
- Completes video and/or photo acquisition, editing, and mastering of complex projects. Develops a conceptual understanding within the parameters outlined in project creative briefs to develop effective and dynamic productions and/or photojournalism projects to promote and expand Compassion's ministry opportunities. Maintains high level of quality, conforming to professional standards in this field.
- Liaises with Compassion departments and staff around the world to strategize and develop potential media/story leads and content ideas. Manages projects and initiatives follow-through on identified content needs.
- Dedicated to developing and producing results-oriented, effective, brand-building digital content that support and strengthen Compassion's marketing strategy.
- Works creatively within the brand standards to maintain the integrity, distinction, and consistency of the Compassion brand by adhering to the organization's brand standards and guidelines.
- Ensures rapid delivery of just-in-time creative content during regional and country specific times of crisis and disaster situations. Further travels to affected country to act as a local videographer or photojournalist.
- Develops editorial content and stories to share and support the work of Compassion and highlight the work of the churches and programs in the field.
- May coach and provide expertise to other professionals and support staff in the creative discipline.

Education
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
Experience
- Seven years Relevant experience working in this or a related field.
