What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Audit chart documentation and professional billing for compliance with E&M, CPT, ICD-10-CM coding, and regulatory requirements
- Analyze audit findings and summarize results for the central database
- Participate in audit conferences with healthcare representatives
- Identify training needs through audits and conduct remedial training as necessary
- Assist in developing policies and procedures in line with the Billing Compliance Plan
What is Required (Qualifications):
- 2 years of medical billing experience
- 4 years of medical coding (procedural and diagnosis) for multi-specialty providers
- 3 years of experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and Tricare payment and reimbursement rules
- 3 years of medical record chart auditing for professional billing
- High School Diploma or GED
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- 1 year of experience with medical management information systems (EPIC preferred)
- 1 year of experience with auditing software applications (e.g., MDaudit, Compliance Risk Analyzer)
- Associate's degree in business or healthcare-related field
- Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA) certification within 6 months
