- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- Completion of a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
- Board certification or eligibility in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
- Fellowship training in a subspecialty area such as pain management or sports medicine.
- Experience in a clinical setting focused on rehabilitation services.
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients to assess their physical capabilities and limitations.
- Develop individualized treatment plans that incorporate physical therapy, medication management, and other therapeutic interventions.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal recovery.
- Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions and the rehabilitation process to promote understanding and compliance.
