  • Job Description

      • Assist in conducting intensified learning experience for students in assigned area and relieves teacher of various non-instructional duties
      • Assist teacher in the management of student arrival and departure time
      • Perform supportive tasks for a certified teacher that is primarily non-instructional in nature
      • Assist teacher and students in achieving the objectives of the program or activities
      • Maintain discipline in the absence of the teacher
      • Tutor students individually or in small groups to reinforce and follow-up learning activity
      • Assist in filing, organizing materials for distribution and recording information
      • Assist in maintaining student records, attendance and files
      • Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned
      • Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position

      WORK ENVIRONMENT:

      The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Travel throughout the district is integral to this job. A remote working environment /alternate work arrangement is not an option for campus-based employees/campus-based positions because regular and punctual attendance at the worksite and performing all duties at the worksite are essential job duties for all campus-based personnel.

      • Accredited Senior High School Diploma or equivalent (U.S.A. equivalency), plus one of the following: Associate degree, 48 college credit hours, pass an academic assessment
      • Paraprofessional certificate required from State Board of Certification
      • Proficient in basic communication techniques and language
      • Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff, parents and the general public
      • Demonstrated initiative and a willingness to follow verbal and written instructions
      • Must possess good writing skills and be able to communicate effectively with students, parents, and employees
      • Demonstrated flexibility to cope with the challenges of a rapidly changing world
      • Demonstrated willingness to remain current with the latest developments in the profession
