Until filled Holds a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.
Holds a valid Georgia Teaching Certificate
Meets all certification requirements including teaching area endorsements in the State of Georgia
Instructs all students on Physical Education curriculum and ensures each student's progress with as much individualization as possible.
Establishes a positive classroom climate and effectively manages instruction within that environment.
Promotes student learning by using research based instructional strategies relevant to the health content to engage students in active learning to facilitate acquisitions of key knowledge and skills as it relates to personal, family, and community health.
Challenges and supports each student’s learning by providing appropriate content and developing skills which address individual learning differences.
Chooses a variety of diagnostic, formative, and summative assessment strategies and instruments that are valid and appropriate for the content and student population.
Plans effectively for instruction, using knowledge of subject matter as well as knowledge of the physical, emotional, and intellectual growth process of students.
Select instruction and activities which are appropriate for teaching and performance, and which will contribute to the development of the students' understanding and appreciation of physical education.
Evaluates student progress in terms of the objectives of the course and grade taught.
Maintains positive and supportive communication with other teachers within the local school cluster as well as other teachers within the district
Seeks to improve through professional development and evaluation activities
Perform other duties as assigned by Principal or Supervisor.

Daily attendance and punctuality are required to ensure the goals of the work unit are met.
Working Environment:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands:
Lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. Generally, the job requires 65% walking/standing, 25% sitting and 10% lifting/carrying.
