      Classification Minimum Requirements:

      Graduation from a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA). Licensed as a Physician Assistant in accordance with Chapter 458, Florida Statutes.

      Job Description

      Serves as the Lead Advanced Practice Provider (APP), with duties and responsibilities to include clinical, administrative and educational activities in the Department of Urology at the UF College of Medicine, in Gainesville, FL. Clinical duties involve providing direct medical care to patients and support to the attending physicians within the Department of Urology. Will also serve as a liaison between the members of the medical staff and referring physicians, which includes supervising and managing appx. 15 medical staff members. Administrative duties include organizing, coordinating, overseeing, and participating in the new hire onboarding process through a well-developed training process that the position will develop to equip newly trained APPs to function independently and safely. Finally, will also take an active role in teaching students and clinical staff rotating through the Department, serving as a clinical preceptor for the UF PA school, and serving as a mentor for UF undergraduate students.

      Required Qualifications:

      Position requires a Master’s degree in Medical Sciences or a closely related field from a Physician Assistant Program accredited by the ARC-PA and 5 years of clinical experience in Urology. Must possess a Full Physician Assistant licensure in the state of Florida and NCCPA Board Certification.
