      • This position pays between $51,000- $99,000 based on experience

      The Physician Coding Liaison is responsible for coordinating physician communications, education, and expertise for the PRC Coding team. This position performs coder communications reviews, serves as the key contact for the specialty, and provides the front-line expertise for their specialty for the company and clients. This role also involves performing root cause analysis of trending identifying coding opportunities, supporting and at times leading coding opportunity improvement projects, and performing special coding projects as determined by leadership.

      Job Responsibilities:

      • Coordinate physician communications, ensuring clear and effective information exchange between the PRC Coding team and physicians.
      • Answer telephone and email questions for their specialty, including coding escalations within their specialty.
      • Provide education and training to physicians and coders on specialty-specific coding guidelines and best practices.
      • Serve as the primary contact for the specialty, addressing inquiries and providing expert guidance on coding-related matters.
      • Conduct coder communications reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with coding standards and workflows aligning with our standard operating models. (i.e. monitoring in-basket-messaging communications timeliness)
      • Perform root cause analysis to identify coding trends and opportunities for improvement for the specialty.
      • Support and lead coding opportunity improvement projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement solutions.
      • Execute special coding projects as assigned by leadership, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
      • Perform production coding as needed to maintain KPI.

      Experience We Love:

      • 5+ years of medical coding experience, with focus on physician coding, preference for Cardio, Ortho, OT/PT and General Surgery specialties.
      • Strong knowledge of specialty-specific coding guidelines and regulations.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with physicians, coders, and other stakeholders.
      • Proven ability to analyze coding trends and implement improvement initiatives.
      • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
      • Experience working in fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
      • Flexibility in working hours to accommodate project timelines and physician schedules.
      • Position may require 20-40% travel to client sites.

      Minimum Education:

      • Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Medical Coding, or equivalent experience

      Required Certifications:

      Candidates must have and keep current at least one of the following professional certifications (CPC, CPMA or CCS Preferred):

      • CPC (Certified Professional Coder)
      • CCS-P (Certified Coding Specialist-Phys Based)
      • CCS (Certified Coding Specialist)
      • CMPA (Certified Professional Medical Auditor)
      • RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator)
      • RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician)
