      Job Summary : Insures the efficient delivery of quality healthcare to all pediatric population in the ambulatory, in-patient and primary care setting. Delivers care to patients utilizing the physician process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation; and effectively interact with patients, significant others, and other health team members while maintaining standard of professional physician care.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

      Ø Provide for the medical needs of the Center’s patients 18 years of age and under according to HHC health care plan and patient’s compliance.

      Ø Provide basic gynecologic examinations to our sexually active adolescent females as part of their annual physical examination according to HHC health care plan and the patient’s compliance.

      Ø Perform complete physical examinations in the pediatric population and conduct annual health appraisal of Center registrants according to EPSDT standards.

      Ø Evaluate and manage health problems, both on a primary basis and a consultative basis.

      Ø Participation in support health services, staff training, e.g. history-taking by nursing staff, performance of simple medical procedures such as urine collections, blood pressure determinations, etc.

      Ø Provide for the management of acute new problems as well as existing chronic problems, documenting patient history ensuring accurate, complete and timely documentation in the EMR system.

      Ø Assist in the development of structured patient education programs which address the discrete health needs of HHC patient populations. Works closely with quality assurance programs at HHC.

      Ø Participate in quality assessment and assurance programs at center as assigned, including participating with Case management discussions.

      Ø Provide in call coverage, adhering to schedule as agreed upon by the providers, and adjusting needs to meet any changes mandated by the CMO.

      Ø Participate in all in-services held by Administration.

      Ø Participate in Case Management rounds as scheduled.

      Ø Participate in staff meetings, peer review meetings and chart audits.

      Ø May provide for the supervision of Nurse Practitioners and/or Physician Assistants according to Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and company standards.

      Ø Practices safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods as per protocol.

      Ø Maintain patient confidentiality as mandated by HIPAA and company policies and compliance with OSHA rules and regulations and QI standards.

      Ø Performs miscellaneous job-related duties within the scope of practice as assigned.

      Required Knowledge and Skills:

      Incumbent must demonstrate competency in the area of specialty. Should have experience in clinical or non-profit service delivery organizations. Must be able to communicate politely and courteously with people from different socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds and be comfortable working with individuals with HIV disease. Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision but also must be a team player with strong organizational and communication skills, able to establish and maintain harmonious, productive working relationships with Center’s management, physicians, clinicians, and general public.

      Minimum Qualifications:

      Incumbent must meet all required educational levels, completing certified Pediatric Residency Program, and completing board certification in that specialty/and or Board eligible and must be licensed to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Incumbent must be able to complete the company credentialing process. Position is considered to be a professional classification and a provider of the company. Incumbent must be flexible to meet the physical activity requirements and must be flexible for call coverage.
