      Job Summary

      The Physician Practice Operations Manager provides direct on-site management of professional and support staff of assigned practice locations.

      Job Responsibilities

      • Supervise, coordinate and delegate the duties and schedule of office professional and support staff. Participate in the selection, orientation and training of all support staff. Demonstrate knowledge and application of office flow and operations. Coordinate office facility needs (e.g. maintenance and repairs). Coordinate and maintain medical and clerical supplies and equipment. Manage and coordinate physician relations and support.
      • Verify and adjudicate office expense records. Coordinate, verify and adjudicate patient billing records to the billing staff. Coordinate and maintain proper medical records.
      • Assist with the development of the office financial budget. Coordinate maintenance of office financial records. Manage and monitor managed care referrals. In cooperation with credentialing department, initiate and maintain practice physician's credentialing contracts with third party payers.
      • Apply management principles and human resource management. Ensures employees comply with all applicable departmental and hospital policies and procedures. Ensure compliance to regulatory agency mandates meeting federal, state and local requirements.
      • Supervise the performance of all office support staff and provide written employee performance appraisals.
      • Effectively handle a high degree of independent access to confidential patient, organizational, salary and other financial information. Maintain strict confidentiality of such records and information. Comply with HIPAA regulations.
      • Attend 85% of all scheduled department meetings. Participate in performance improvement activities as requested. Contribute to the strengthening of the multidisciplinary team approach to the delivery of patient care and organization function. Attend continuing education classes when required.
      • Ensure patient rights are identified and met for every patient. Demonstrate and apply skills in the principles of infection prevention, reduction and controls appropriate for the medical office setting. Monitor and appropriately respond to patient satisfaction scores and comments.
      • Other duties as assigned.

      Education Requirements

      • Minimum: High School Graduate.
      • Preferred: Associate's degree in business or healthcare administration or other related field of study

      Experience Requirements

      • Minimum: Two (2) years previous physician office management or supervisory experience in a medical office setting, or previous physician accounts receivable management

      License/Certification Requirements

      • Minimum: None
