      Primoris Canada is an infrastructure contractor serving major firms in the oil, gas, power, petrochemical, and heavy oil industries and include services covering tailings and hydro-transport pipeline construction and maintenance, storage tank construction and maintenance, industrial facilities multi-discipline construction and maintenance, piping fabrication, and pipeline integrity services.

      SUMMARY

      The Steamfitter-Pipefitter is involved in connecting pipe, hydro-testing, and rigging. This work may exist indoors or outdoors depending on the scope and is typically physically demanding.

      Work Location: Syncrude Aurora - Fort McMurray, AB

      Anticipated Start Date: September 1, 2023

      Anticipated End Date: November 30, 2023

      Shift: 14&7 (10 hour days)

      Hourly Rate: $35.87-$58.43 ((Inclusive of employer contributions for vacation/statutory, health and welfare, RSP, pension, and education and training)

      Local Premium: $5.00/hour

      JOB DUTIES

      • Comply with Company and Client Safety rules, as well as OH&S standards
      • Select type of pipe, size of pipe, and systems by applying knowledge of system operation and following blueprints
      • Construct support hangers and hydraulic cylinders according to specifications
      • Utilize pipe bending tools or machines to bend pipe
      • Perform pressure tests by increasing pressure in pipe systems and observing pressure gauges to test for leaks
      • Ensure that holes cut in pipe will not cause structural weakness
      • Connect pipe utilizing threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, or fused joints and hand tools
      • Install and maintain pneumatic and hydraulic components of machines and equipment, such as pumps and cylinders
      • Cut pipe utilizing saws, pipe cutting machines, cutting torch, etc.
      • Secure pipe with brackets, clamps, and hangars
      • Attend required safety and tailgate/toolbox meetings
      • May perform other duties as assigned

      QUALIFICATIONS

      • Must be an Alberta registered apprentice or ticketed journeyman (or hold an apprenticeship or journeyman certificate recognized by AIT)
      • CSO, BSO, or OSSA Regional
      • ESC/OSSA Arial Work Platform preferred
      • ESC/OSSA Fall Protection preferred
      • Confined space considered an asset
      • Permit receiving considered an asset
      • Overhead crane and rigging considered an asset
      • Able to work well in a team environment
      • Must be physically able to lift 50lbs and climb in/under units in the field
      • Organized and self-motivated
