      Our Personal Lines Product Management team is currently seeking a Product Owner.

      This is a full time, exempt role. This position is eligible for a fully remote work arrangement in Michigan or New England or a hybrid work arrangement to Worcester, MA or Howell, MI.

      POSITION OVERVIEW:

      The PL Product Owner leads the effort to interpret the corporate Product vision and transform that vision into a functional reality. A PL Product Owner achieves this by working with business leaders, technology partners, and subject matter experts. They lead the project management function from a business perspective on Product and Underwriting enhancements, new Product implementations, and ongoing system maintenance with the goal of launching projects in a quality and timely manner.

      IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

      • Meet with Product Managers and others in PL leadership to understand and help guide the Product vision and strategy, to outline details of how PL products and systems operate, and to make tactical recommendations for operation and improvement of products.
      • Be responsible for implementation efforts on the business side. Working closely with peers and leadership in the Hanover Technology Group (HTG) to ensure quality, timely product change launches.
      • Assist in efforts to forecast the cost and timeline required to implement the project.
      • Interpret the product vision to recommend how and what to build (and what not to build) to PL leadership team.
      • Work with Product Managers to determine the scope of requirements necessary to complete a project.
      • Lead business requirements appropriate to the technology process used for system development and changes. This may include traditional requirements documentation or story writing associated with the Agile process.
      • Work with agency partners and other subject matter experts to analyze key competitors’ system functionality and system ease of doing business. This includes analysis with Hanover’s current system offering and making recommendations to PL Leadership.

      WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:

      • Bachelor’s Degree required (preferably in Business, Finance, or Technology related discipline)
      • 5+ years related work experience
      • Demonstrated project management experience leading moderately complex initiatives with varying scope. Experience with Agile methodology preferred.
      • P&C Insurance experience preferred
      • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate business concepts in a manner that translates to systems structures.
