Catalent, Nottingham based in modern purpose-built facilities outside Nottingham is a growing pharmaceutical contract development and manufacturing company offering problem solving, science led pharmaceutical development and manufacture to clients from across the globe.

This in an exciting time in the development of the company and because of our continued growth we have the opportunity to offer 1-year placements to suitable candidates wishing to start a scientific career within the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in the areas of formulation product development and clinical manufacturing.

The successful candidates will work alongside our scientists developing and manufacturing a wide range of dosage forms including tablets, capsules, creams, suspensions, and medical devices to support both client and in-house projects. You will get first-hand experience of work in an exciting industrial scientific environment and have an opportunity to put into practice your practical skills and scientific knowledge. You will be able to see and participate in the practical application of enabling formulation technologies such as hot melt extrusion and spray drying as well as conventional technologies including compression, filling, and mixing.

You will work as part of a team responsible for conducting formulation and process development experiments and the manufacture of clinical trial materials in a GMP regulated facility.

As the successful candidates you must be able to demonstrate a good basic understanding of the pharmaceutical development process and have a knowledge of formulation techniques used in solving issues such as poor drug solubility. You will have gained a high standard in your studies so far and in particular you will be able to prove your practical skills by having a high achievement in your compounding modules.
