Job summary
Our B6 Plain Film Radiographer will be in a supervisory role, coordinating Xray workload and team members. They will support the XRay Lead Radiographer through delegated roles and tasks. The will carry out X-Ray examinations within the agreed scope of practice for the role, striving to produce images that are of exemplary diagnostic quality and support team member to achieve the same..
They will work as part of the X-Ray and wider Radiology team, supporting Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust (TSDFT) in delivering a high quality, safe and patient focussed service.
They will represent the Plain film and wider Radiology team and TSDFT in a professional and appropriate manner and contribute to safe working practices, ensuring full compliance with all local and national guidance and regulatory requirements.
Main duties of the job
Provide supervisory support to the XRay team, coordinating daily workload in the main Xray department.
Supporting the XR Superintendent Radiographer.
Providing high quality diagnostic X-Ray imaging within the required scope of practice at TSDFT. The scope of practice may extend to supporting more complex procedures where this is appropriate for the role and after appropriate training.
Work within all mandated Regulatory guidelines and comply with all Trust and Departmental, Policies Protocols and Guidelines, ensuring high quality, safe working practices in a safe working environment.
Provide highest quality of care, treating all patients equally.
You will be responsible for the safe and efficient use of expensive and complex technical equipment.
Management of workload in the scan room/area they are responsible for.
Work as part of the wider TSDFT team, supporting patient pathways for all patient types, assuring that patients receive the most effective and efficient service.
You will supervise and advise trainees and students.
You will be part of the 24 hours/7-day provision of service. This will involve working without more senior radiographic supervision on-site.
You is responsible for maintaining their registration.
About us
The X-Ray team is led by a Superintendent Radiographer, supported by two Band 6 Radiographers (one of which is this role), and leading a team of 26 X-Ray Radiographers.
