Our Technical Operations team is full of aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities professionals, and supply chain teams that help make sure they’re well taken care of and ready to get our customers to their desired destinations.       Key Responsibilities:

      The Planner - Aircraft Tooling is responsible for reviewing, procuring and allocating all aircraft tooling in respect to United’s operational demand and schedule. It is also the responsibility of the Aircraft Tooling Planners to give in continuous improvement and cost savings initiatives as they relate to aircraft tooling.

      • Assist with AOG expedites to support the Hub/Line and Outside Vendor (OSV) operation
      • Send Request for Quote (RFQ) to evaluate and negotiate price points / lead times and sense of urgency for purchase from a multitude of external tool vendors
      • Responsible for the assignment of Property Control (PC) numbers and establish asset tracking requirements
      • Collaborates with Line / Base maintenance operations to lead tooling system distribution using SCEPTRE/eTIPS
      • Provide OSV start-ups with the required tooling
      • Review surplus and spare tooling inventory on a continual basis
      • Provide system logistical support, monitors daily Out-Of-Service (OOS) and Broken Work reports, represents the Tooling Group on the Daily Operational Report (DOR) call
      • Support QA / QC audits and perform periodic tooling audits through-out operation

      The salary for this position is $66,560-$87,560, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education and skills. This range is based on a full-time schedule. Bonus eligible.       What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

      • BA/BS Degree and/or applicable Line or Base Aircraft Maintenance experience
      • 3 years in Line or Base Maintenance environments
      • Experience working in a role that includes working with a unionized labor workforce
      • Extensive knowledge of aircraft maintenance operations and familiar with applicable FAA regulations (Part 121 and 145)
      • Strong background and technical knowledge of aviation maintenance and maintenance programs
      • Proficient in using AMM’s and the ability to read and Interpret Tool Drawings as needed
      • Perform detailed analysis on tooling procurement and make decisions with little to no supervision
      • Demonstrate analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
      • Must be able to work independently and in a Team Environment
      • Strong oral and written communication skills for various audiences, including senior leadership
      • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
      • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
      • Reliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the position

      What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

      • A&P license
      • Master's degree or equivalent experience
      • Experience as a Tactical, Line, or Field Planner
      • Lean Six Sigma Certified Green Belt or Black Belt
