      Coax and Fiber Planning and Design Engineer
      Northeast Division footprint (ME, NH, VT, NJ, PA, OH, WV, VA, MD, DC, and DE.)
      Location: (100% Virtual/Remote)
      Job type: Long-Term Contract

      Our client, a major Telecommunications provider, is hiring a Planning & Design Engineer for a long-term remote contract opportunity.
      This is 100% virtual but the person hired needs to reside within the Northeast Division footprint (ME, NH, VT, NJ, PA, OH, WV, VA, MD, DC, and DE.)

      Shift is Tuesday - Saturday 8:30-5p EST (but can be flexible as long as hours are consistent) 8 hours a day

      Working with the Fiber Coax As-builts team for Northeast Division.
      will have a lot of interactions with construction teams to get any missing information.
      Will work in Iris - Iris experience is a must for this; must be able to draft in Iris.
      knowledge of Spatial is nice to have.
      Will work on Coax and Fiber design for all lines of business - knowledge of Coax and Fiber is needed.
      Top skills needed:
      Coax, Fiber and Iris
      looking for someone who has designed in Iris for min 2 years
      they deal with Excel, Word and Google Earth
      basic knowledge of Spatial
      Interview process - 1 round 3 managers in an interview in panel; mostly general questions may ask about Iris;

      RESPONSIBILITIES
      The Planning & Design Engineer is responsible for construction coordination and the planning and designing of broadband communication systems. Working with project team to design systems and determine project specifications.

      RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Assist with project status to ensure progress toward completion and required procedural steps are completed fully and in a timely manner.
      • Create construction jobs from a variety of intake sources. Validates documentation and information available to proceed. Where needed, obtains additional information to move the job forward.
      • Leverage Plan tools to assess nearby jobs for integration.
      • Participate in the design of broadband communication systems using various design software packages. Prepares special keys, charts, diagrams and graphic drawings for use by other departments. Updates and maintains system maps, keys, and design files. Tracks and keeps current system spreadsheets and documents.

      REQUIREMENTS
      • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience Field of Study Liberal Arts, Engineering, or GIS
      • Requires 2-5 years related experience
