      OFFERED WAGE: $ 163,363.00 per year

      JOB DUTIES:

      Provide electrical engineering analysis and technical support for the planning and operation of the electric power system. Design and perform steady-state analyses using power flow models (PSSE, VSAT, or Powerworld). Design and perform production cost modeling (UPLAN) studies to accomplish transmission planning. Implement appropriate system modeling. Assist in developing improvements to transmission planning and market forecasting processes. Develop tools and procedures to monitor and control the system. Analyze simulated or actual operating results. Assist in providing input and analyses from planning perspective on market / protocol design issues. Assist in providing market simulation / forecasting and transmission planning analyses to support other activities. Structure appropriate planning studies and sensitivity analyses to determine the need for improvements and evaluate proposed projects, including technical and financial analyses. Work on complex engineering issues where analysis of situations requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Coordinate, provide presentations, and participate in stakeholder meetings. Act as mentor to less experienced engineers / analysts. Lead multifunctional teams to obtain input, address comments and perform studies. Maintain knowledge of emerging trends and industry best practices. Report findings and recommendations. May telecommute up to 3 days per week from within the State of Texas.

      MINIMUM EDUCATION:

      Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems Engineering.

      MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

      Five (5) years of experience as Power Systems Engineer, Power Systems Analyst, Planning Engineer, Operations Engineer, or closely related position.

      SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

      The required five (5) years of experience as Power Systems Engineer, Power Systems Analyst, Planning Engineer, Operations Engineer, or closely related position must have been in the electric utility industry and must have involved modeling, simulation, load forecasting, and analysis of system events.

      OTHER:

      May telecommute up to 3 days per week from within the State of Texas. #LI-DNP
