      Basic Job Functions:

      The Plant Engineer will be responsible for our document control system. During the construction process, this entails the development, implementation, and the maintenance of the system and files such as drawings, manuals, and model files. Additionally, quality control processes to ensure all drawings meet standards and project requirements will need to be developed and implemented.The plant engineer will work close with project managers, engineers, other team members, and equipment manufactures to execute drawing control during construction. Key responsibilities after construction will include review and accuracy of new or modified drawings, manage the process of linking the drawing systems to other enterprises like warehouse inventory, purchasing system, and preventative maintenance tracking system.

      Nucor Steel West Virginia is Nucor's new sheet mill with advanced steelmaking capabilities. This is a greenfield project, which is estimated to be fully operational in 2025. The new steel mill will employ 800 full-time teammates producing up to 3 million tons per year at one of the most technologically advanced sheet mills. This advanced manufacturing facility is to be located along the Ohio River in close proximity to both Huntington and Charleston, WV. This is a full-time position located at our offices in Mason County, WV.

      Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

      Minimum Qualifications:

      • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar drawing software
      • Four year Bachelor's degree in engineering or will obtain equivalent degree in 2025
      • Currently in process of completing a Nucor Internship (or) A Nucor Internship Rotation has been completed in the past 12 months

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Experience with drawing control processes and software.
      • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
      • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
      • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
      • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
