      Plant Operator

      Location - Decatur, AL
      Hours - Monday - Friday

      Safety and Regulatory Compliance
      - Demonstrates and aligns with Airgas Safety Pledge and 12 Life Saving Rules.
      - Exemplifies, promotes and develops safe work behaviors.
      - Ensures all applicable regulatory (OSHA, FDA, DOT, EPA) requirements are met and applicable training and recordkeeping is performed to meet departmental and location deadlines.
      - Maintains compliance with all Specialty, Medical and Food Gas Standard Operating Procedures, SMS and ISO requirements and any and all associated paperwork.

      Essential Functions:
      - Operates safely and maintains equipment for pumping or repackaging gases into cylinders.
      - Performs minor maintenance of equipment and inspection of cylinders prior to filling.
      - Use standard pre-fill and post-fill inspections, tests, and operating procedures before cylinders are released.
      - Regularly inspect and maintain pumping apparatus and associated pressure gauges and monitoring devices used in daily activities.
      - Fill cylinders or containers to proper capacity and accurately maintain cylinder filling records and ensure that all required procedures are followed in order to comply with local, state and federal regulations.
      - Complete daily fill sheets and cylinder filling records accurately and timely.
      - Complete and attach warning and other identification tags, labels and decals to cylinders.
      - Unload and load cylinders onto delivery trucks using cylinder carts and/or lift gate.
      - Conduct periodic checks of the plant / warehouse for safe and efficient operation.
      - Ensure any accident or injury is promptly reported; comply with all company safety policies and procedures; attend monthly safety meetings.
      - Comply with shift work schedules and be able to work occasional overtime to meet operational deadlines.
      - Maintain a clean, safe and orderly plant / warehouse appearance.

      Are you a MATCH?

      High School Diploma. Prior experience working in plant or warehouse environment.

      COMPUTER SKILLS:
      - Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) preferred

      COMMUNICATION and/or CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS:


      - Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
      - Ability to write routine business reports and business correspondence in English.
      - Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees and/or customers.
      - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
      - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and safety data sheets using the English language.

      MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:


      - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
