Job Description
- Req#: req3424
- Checks that any works carried out meets relevant health and safety legislation.
- Identification of mains plant to allow accurate and safe digging practices.
- Ensure correct perimetry is in place for all works.
- Identify, verify and protect the mains network.
- Visit sites after damages to offer guidance and support to our customers.
- Liaise with customers via email and phone.
- An excellent knowledge of the gas industry and plant safety requirements
- Self-motivated and organised and able to manage work time independently and productively.
- Good IT skills and familiarity with Geofield and Microsoft packages would be desirable
- Customer facing skills, ensuring our customers receive the highest standard of customer care.
- Stakeholder engagement, allowing for accurate and timely communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
- You will need to take part in the reginal standby rota
- Some out of hours work may be required due to customer driven works

Plant Protection Officer
Location: Glasgow
Salary: £32.7k - £40.4k per annum (Dependent on skills & qualifications)

The role
The Plant Protection Officer is a critical role in supporting our engineers, external stakeholders and our customers. The role will require you to liaise with both SGN and external partners to identify gas mains ensuring safety polices are adhered to while contributing to a safe and productive work environment.
You will principle be working with teams in the field in a multi-site capacity, however, there are administrative aspects to the role encompassing the accurate recording and distribution of information. There are customer facing responsibilities in which you will use your customer service skills to provide the highest standard of customer and stakeholder care.
