As a Linux Platform Engineer at Tele2, you'll be at the heart of our network operations, with a primary focus on Element Management Systems (EMS) and OSIX systems. Our EMS systems, running in Linux environments, are the backbone of our mobile network operations, interfacing with all network elements and ensuring seamless performance. Your expertise will be instrumental in collecting critical data, including alarms, performance counters, and logs, while also interfacing with external systems for post-processing, storage, and access control.
Our OSIX solution involves managing a vast array of bare metal servers and collecting signaling data from various interfaces to troubleshoot network issues effectively. Your role will be to ensure the smooth operation of these systems, providing vital support for our telecommunications infrastructure. This position also includes on call duty with a rotating scheme for you and your colleagues.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
As a Tele2 Linux Engineer, you are a self-motivated individual who thrives on taking initiative. You excel both as an independent problem solver and as a collaborative team player. Your skill set includes proficiency in Linux environments, Windows servers, and a solid grasp of programming and scripting. In addition to these core competencies, we value expertise in:• TCP/IP & IP routing, along with commonly used Internet Protocols
• Virtualization technologies such as VMWare, Openstack, or their equivalents• Configuration and maintenance of systems and applications
• Planning and executing upgrades, occasionally during night-time service windows
• Troubleshooting and expert bug fixing
• User administration and responsive support
• Ensuring security through meticulous access controls, robust backups, and vigilant firewall management
