      The Chief Technology Office (CTO) is accountable for ensuring Enterprise Services (ES) will attract, develop and retain the best people, enhancing our reputation as an agile Engineering and Architecture led Technology organisation, creating simple and enduring products and services for our employees, customers and shareholders. As a member of the Chief Technology Office (CTO), you will contribute to all aspects of the technology products and services we deliver, from technical strategy and design to coding to deployment to operation. Our CTO products and services are leveraged across all Business Unit Platforms within the Bank to deliver industry-leading software including: CommBank App, Netbank, CommSee, CommSec, CommBiz and Commbank.com.au

      The role of a Platform Engineer is to design, build, run and evolve tools, infrastructure, templates and capabilities that our other engineers use to deliver business value, and to write code that automates running our infrastructure and environment

      The successful applicant will join a DevSecOps team tasked with delivering:

      • Source code management tooling.

      • Artefact management tooling.

      • Testing management tooling.

      • Third party and bespoke components providing adjunct functionality.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Build, install, configure, test, monitor, support and document cloud-based, third-party, and/or custom-built systems, technologies and features.

      • Build, configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines.

      • Build, configure and maintain infrastructure environments (cloud and on-premises).

      • Liaise with vendors and service providers for external support and system enhancements.

      • Participate in after-hours on-call support.

      • Operate in agile framework using agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).

      Experience:

      • Demonstrated experience as a Platform or DevOps engineer

      • Ability to perform root cause analysis and solving challenging problems.

      • A propensity to solve problems with coding/scripting and automation.

      • Relating well to others (e.g. empathetic, understanding, inquisitive, open to giving and receiving feedback, collaborative).

      • Managing time, tasks and delivering on commitments, potentially working on multiple streams of work at the same time.

      • Applying and promoting security best practices from a systems delivery perspective.

      • Applying and promoting CI/CD principles and practices.

      • Implementing Infrastructure as Code (e.g.: YAML).

      Technical Skills :

      • *Nix operating systems (e.g.: Linux).

      • Cloud hosting platforms (e.g.: AWS, Azure, GCP).

      • Git-based source/version control systems (e.g.: GitHub, Bitbucket).

      • Continuous integration/delivery tooling (e.g.: TeamCity, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).

      • Scripting languages (e.g.: Python, TypeScript, Bash, Shell, or similar).

      • Programming languages (e.g.: C#, Java or similar).

      • Containerisation technologies (e.g:. Docker).

      • Testing tooling management (e.g.: Perfecto, BlazeMeter, Playwright) is a plus.

      • Configuration management tooling (e.g.: Ansible) and Artefact management tooling (e.g.: Artifactory) is desirable.
