      Responsibilities

      • The Plumber will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing used for water distribution and wastewater disposal.
      • Maintain and repair plumbing systems carrying water and steam
      • Replace or mend broken pipes including clearing clogged drains on sinks and toilets
      • Repair or replace plumbing fixtures
      • Measure, cut, thread or bend pipe to the required angle, using hand or power tools or machines such as pipe cutters and pipe treading machines
      • Assemble pipe sections, tubing, or fittings using couplings, screws, bolts, or soldering and brazing equipment
      • Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, or fixtures such as sinks and toilets
      • Ability to snake out sanitary lines and water piping systems.
      • Locate and mark the position of pipes for installation using instruments such as rulers or levels
      • Perform preventative maintenance on all base building and critical equipment, which includes but is not limited to assembling all tools, supplies, and instruments necessary to complete the task
      • Perform work with a minimum amount of disruption and conduct immediate cleanup of the work area
      • Responsible for reporting problems or malfunctions
      • Maintain tools and order supplies as required for installation and repairs
      • Keep logs, document equipment repairs, close work orders, track time accurately in reports, and provide timely and constant communication with the facility maintenance management
      • Comply with department policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous waste materials
      • Assist other mechanics and operators with major repairs and maintenance of building and equipment
      • Perform any and all other duties as assigned

      Qualifications

      Job Requirements:

      • High School Diploma or equivalent
      • 5-7 years of plumbing experience, preferably within a healthcare or institutional setting
      • Current and valid driver’s license.
      • Available to work flexible hours and or on-call shifts as needed.
      • Ability to climb ladders and work in crawl spaces
      • Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions including but not limited to, hot, cold, outdoors, dry humid areas, heights, and congested areas
      • Knowledgeable in the use of tools and machinery required for this position
      • Knowledge of OSHA standards and local codes
      • Able to lift 50lbs
      • Available to work flexible hours and or on-call shifts as needed.
