      What you’ll do at OhioMHAS :

      Directs all activities of comprehensive law enforcement & security programs, plans, organizes & reviews security & law enforcement operations; develops operating procedures; establishes & implements policies; prepares & reviews requests for budget items; screens expenditures; interprets laws, rules & regulations causing them to be enforced; supervises Police Officers and Police Sergeants/Lieutenants; provides formal employee training; safeguard recovered property, criminal evidence & contraband & returns or disposes of same as provided by laws; assures that staff understands their role in Recovery & are able to access required computer information & follow the HIPAA Privacy Regulations; maintains knowledge of & utilizes Recovery model concepts.

      Conducts criminal & administrative investigations for violations of hospital policies & procedures.

      Establishes & maintains close working relationship with department heads, administrative officials, other law enforcement agencies & courts; researches changes in law & rules applicable to law enforcement safety programs; attends committee meetings; member of NBH Hospital Executive Committee (HEC); utilizes approved office productivity software, approved intra & internet resources & information systems in an appropriate work-related manner as specified in the Personal Computer Usage Guidelines.

      This is an hourly position and is exempt from the bargaining units, with a pay range of #13 on the E1 Exempt Pay Range Schedule . Normal working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm (Flexible Schedule).

      Unless required by any applicable union contract and/or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code, the selected candidate will begin at Step 1 of the pay range schedule listed above, with an opportunity for pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.

      Completion of 20 yrs. active duty as peace officer per Section 109.78(D) of revised code; 12 mos. training &/or experience in supervisory principles & techniques; valid driver’s license.

      -Or requires possession of certificate of having successfully completed approved peace officer training program; 12 mos. training &/or experience in supervisory principles & techniques; valid driver’s license.
