Job Description

- Take, maintain, and update routine police reports at the police department.
- Assist in the transportation and movement of department property and vehicles, as needed.
- Prepare and present crime prevention material at public forums.
- Administer and oversee the input of users, audit, coordinate with IT and/or vendor on issues of Geosafe.
- Administer and oversee the input of users, audit, coordinate with IT and/or vendor on issues with Getac Body Worn Cameras and In Car Cameras for all applicable City personnel.
- Assist with Sex Offender Registration/Renewal.
- Fulfill fingerprinting requests utilizing Live Scan technology.
- Assist with the budgeting, issuing, tracking, armoring, and training of firearms for the Police Department.
- Assist with the training of the police department sworn and non-sworn personnel.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
- Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, the public and other employees of the organization.
- Regular contacts with patrons where the contacts are initiated by the employee. Involves both furnishing and obtaining information. Contacts of considerable importance and of such nature, that failure to exercise proper judgment may result in important tangible or intangible losses to the organization.
- Considerable responsibility regarding general assignments in planning time, method, manner, and/or sequence of performance of own work; may also occasionally assist in the planning of work assignments performed by others within a limited area of operation.
- Knowledge of basic office procedures, methods, and computer equipment
- Knowledge of law enforcement codes, practice, and methods
- Knowledge of basic principles and procedures of record keeping.
- Ability to perform routine clerical duties, type accurately at a speed necessary for successful job performance.

- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and to follow all policy and procedures of the Department and the City.
- High school or GED*, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc. plus 19-23 months related experience and/or training.
- Must be a current or former certified CLEET instructor or adjunct CLEET instructor. If not current, must be recertified at time of employment. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- *Home schooled or private high school graduates should contact the Oklahoma Department of Education to determine if their school is accredited. If not, a GED is required.
- Valid Oklahoma State Driver’s License
Non-Sworn, current, or former CLEET instructor or CLEET adjunct instructor, position within the police department. The Police Services Technician is intended to provide assistance to the community and to other police department personnel, as assigned.
