Job Description

- Coordinating and leading mutual evaluations of APG members.
- Coordinating technical assistance and training with donors and providers.
- Providing expertise and research on money laundering, terrorist financing and financing the proliferation of WMD.
- Providing advice and information to, and linkages between, international and regional agencies (especially financial, legal and law enforcement agencies) on AML/CFT/CPF matters.
- Organising and contributing to APG events and projects and attending and contributing to FATF events and projects.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with relevant international and regional organisations.
- Providing project and corporate support to meet targets set out in APG Strategic Plan and the Annual Business Plan.
- Supporting the development and review of policies to achieve APG outcomes.
- Assisting colleagues with APG-wide work responsibilities.
- Ensuring that key stakeholders (internal and external) are managed effectively to achieve these purposes.
- Contribute to APG policy documents and publications where required.
- Assist with APG technical work (mutual evaluations, follow-up reports, technical assistance and training and research and implementation) as required.
- Develop APG Secretariat internal policies and guidance documentation.
- Assist in project development and management including risk management.
- Deliver project outputs/milestones within agreed timeframes and standards with minimal supervision.
- Apply strict accountability systems for project expenditure including monitoring and reporting expenditures.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of positive and productive relationships with APG stakeholders.
- Support APG projects in a manner that meets stakeholder expectations.
- Foster a collegiate team environment including sharing in APG-wide work responsibilities.
- Practice a continuous improvement approach by reviewing own work methods, identifying weaknesses and improving methods in response.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, or at least 5 years proven policy experience and/or project management in a relevant field.
- Experience working in an international organisation or in AML/CFT/CPF is preferable.
- A proven ability to work flexibly and achieve outcomes in busy or challenging environments.
- Experience working at a project management level of a small to medium organisation.
- Understanding of the various levels and types of professional relationships which can exist in a political and business environment involving national and international policy implications.
- Experience in communicating effectively with individuals and groups, including in situations which can be culturally and politically sensitive in an international context.
- Effective financial management and administration skills.
- Experience in working with a wide range of computer-based applications, MS Office, virtual meeting platforms and document management systems.
- This role is located in Sydney or Canberra and applicants are expected to be based in one of these locations.
