About our team
Cyber & Infrastructure Security | Cyber & Infrastructure Security | Regulatory Compliance | Operational Support
The Operational Support team is transforming the way Regulatory Compliance Branch conducts business through improved governance, policy and procedural support, and professionalisation of the workforce. We are a small team setting the foundations for inspectors to undertake compliance and enforcement activities under Australia's transport security legislation, the Maritime and Offshore Facilities Security Act 2003 and the Aviation Transport Security Act 2004.
Officers in the branch are based in Australia's mainland capital cities and regulate over 2,000 transport security industry participants, conducting compliance activities in Australia and overseas, and working closely with law enforcement and security agencies including the Australian Border Force and the Australian Federal Police. The team also manages the intake, analysis and referral of transport security incident reports. We contribute to whole of government efforts to safeguard against unlawful interference (for example, terrorism) in the transport sector.
