- Preparing policy advice and information for stakeholders.
- Communicating with key stakeholders, drafting correspondence and coordinating stakeholder consultations
- Providing project management support for policy initiatives.
- Working with internal and external stakeholders to inform and develop policy initiatives.
- Contributing to the work of the broader policy team as needed.
- An analytical thinker who can critically review information and think outside the box to solve complex problems.
- Highly organised, with skills in research, writing, personal initiative and attention to detail.
- An understanding of public policy including policy development, implementation, evaluation and comfort with working with legislation.
- A great team player with a positive outlook who wants to be a part of a supportive and engaged team.
- Ability to operate effectively in a complex, sensitive and changing environment and work across multiple tasks.
- An interest in and curiosity about personal injury schemes, and/or experience in a policy or personal injury background.
The State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) is looking for a Policy Officer to join the Strategic Policy group within the Scheme Design, Policy & Performance (Motor Accidents Insurance Regulation) Directorate.

At SIRA (the State Insurance Regulatory Authority) we regulate motor accidents CTP insurance, workers compensation insurance and the homebuilding compensation scheme in NSW.
This role is in the Strategic Policy & Markets team of the CTP policy directorate. A dynamic and interesting team that tackles big picture questions about the future of the CTP scheme. We work across the policy issues facing the scheme and provide strategic advice to the executive.

About you:
Our ideal candidate is somebody who can apply their skills and experience to the policy aspects of the statutory insurance schemes. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent experience and skills in government regulation or public policy analysis would be very highly regarded.
