- Daily analysis and forecasting of political developments across a wide range of countries, with a focus on either Europe, the Middle East, or sub-Saharan African
- Daily monitoring of a full range of political risk indicators on our GeoQuant platform, and liaising with our Country Risk team of analysts on interpreting and writing around the data.
- Monitoring and analysis of opinion polls and elections worldwide.
- Managing election previews for major economies, and contributing to thematic special reports.
- Playing a critical role in shaping analytical views in an award-winning Country Risk Team.
- Integrating political analysis with economic forecasts and financial market performance, and public policy issues with our industry coverage.
- Presenting to a wide variety of clients on political risks.
- Degree or Master’s degree in political or social science.
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role.
- Very strong numerical and data skills, especially analysis and interpretation of data.
- Strong working knowledge of main public policy issues affecting European countries.
- Good understanding of macroeconomic concepts.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently to tight deadlines, as well as in a team environment.
- Ability to organise your workflow and prioritise tasks at hand.
- Independent, ‘out-of-the-box’ thinking.
- Fluency in another major language would be advantageous.
- Passion for current affairs/world events.
- Great intellectual curiosity, evidenced by wider reading outside the day-to-day work environment.
